IT LOOKS like Samsung’s latest flagship device is going to be announced on February 24 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The company sent out an event invite for their Unpacked 5 event, which had no shortage of the number “5” floating around it, which if history is any indication is a clue for what the launch event will be for.
It also matches leaked information and rumours that suggest that Samsung’s latest hero phone will be announced towards the end of February/early March. Other rumours surrounding the Galaxy S5 include its inclusion of a fingerprint scanner like Apple’s latest iPhone, a metal body rather than the usual plastic, a 16MP camera and a 5.2-inch screen with a 2K resolution (twice the resolution of full-HD).
The Mobile World Congress is the biggest event in the mobile industry and is often where big companies like Samsung announce their flagship phones for the year. HTC is also expected to announce its follow-up to their 2013 flagship, the HTC One, as well as announcements from Sony and Nokia.
